Valve Deadzone/Backlash Compensation for Lifting Motion Control of Hydraulic Manipulators

In this paper, a novel nonlinear model and high-precision lifting motion control method of hydraulic manipulator driven by proportional valve are presented, with consideration severe system nonlinearities, various uncertainties as well backlash/deadzone input nonlinearities. To accomplish mission, based on the independent orifice throttling process, new comprehensive pressure-flow is proposed to uniformly indicate both backlash deadzone effects flow characteristics. Furthermore, in dynamics, considering mechanism nonlinearity utilizing smooth LuGre friction describe state-space mathematical manipulation then established. suppress adverse nonlinearities system, high precision adaptive robust via backstepping, which projection-type law combination feedback term conducted attenuate disturbances. Lyapunov stability analysis demonstrates that scheme can acquire transient steady-state close-loop stability, excellent tracking performance designed verified comparative simulation results.
